The life of journalist of Pakistan in danger

We have received confirmed reports from our Pakistani sources that a Pakistani national journalists continue to be persecuted by the Pakistani authorities.  Our sources from Pakistan reported the news of the a Pakistani Journalist who wrote an article in the Dhoowan newspaper which criticised the Pakistani regime has been the subject of death threats and persecution from the Pakistani authorities.

“Shahid Eftikhar” in his article described the conflict between Shia’t and Sunnis and also referred to one of the leaders of Shia’t accused him of kidnapping and states: Nephew of one of the Shia’t leaders  raped a virgin girls called “Lal Bibi” however because of his influence in the Judiciary, the Pakistani authorities do not take any action against this person despite the overwhelming evidence.  He wrote that such acts of violence against the culprits are punished severely and often results in the execution or life sentence if found guilty by the court and yet this person was able to escape unpunished.

Mr “Shahid Eftikhat” also mentioned in his article about the government’s indifference and lack of serious reaction for finding those who planted bomb in one of Shia’t’s Mosques which has caused further stir between the two religious sectors.

Clearly the arrest of this Journalist is against the Human Rights foundations as Article 19 of the World Human Right confirms: An individual should not be fearful for his life from his authorities or others because of his ideological opinion. The Rights of opinion, expression, and media is an inherent rights given to the people of this earth and should not be opposed by any regime and should be able to publish his opinion without a fear.

Despite the existence of such International Article on Human Rights countries like Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and in these countries it is apparent that breach of Human Rights is justified by referring to Islamic Laws.  The breach of Human Rights in these countries extends to Christians and those who convert as they consider them to be against the Islamic principles.  The Islamic Punishment Codes imposes punishment for anyone accused of criticising Islam or Muslims and those individuals who are deemed to be critical of the Islam are labelled as apostate and their killing is deemed to be appropriate and in accordance with the Islamic laws.

It must be noted that this honourable journalist “Shahid Eftikhar” lived in the town of “Jehlome and was one of the Journalist of “Dhoowan” newspaper.

It is believed that upon the arrest of this individual he would be likely to be subjected to torture and sentenced to execution as evident by the reports in the news worldwide about Pakistani Journalists.
